- • Develop national energy efficiency programs and identify relevant indicators, objectives, plans and policies.
- • Propose draft statues of energy efficiency through coordination with the relevant entities.
- • Issue technical regulations, standards and procedures to increase energy efficiency including standards of buildings and regions cooling.
- • Contribute with relevant stakeholders to the development of standard specifications for devices, equipment, lighting systems, transportation and so on, in order to achieve energy efficiency.
- • Set appropriate basis that helps the management of energy efficiency label program in coordination with relevant entities.
- • Draw up rules for licensing and qualifying energy efficiency services providers, in anticipation of the completion of required regulatory requirements.
- • Input into with relevant stakeholders in developing necessary rules related to the energy efficiency tests.
- • Provide technical and consultancy services in the field of energy auditing, measurement and verification.
- • Prepare national guide for measurement and verification of energy efficiency services, publish it and follow up its update.
- • Monitor the compliance with the energy efficiency standards and take all measures to this effect.
- • Prepare periodical reports on energy efficiency in KSA in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
- • Obtain information and documents relevant to energy efficiency from any energy user and develop databases for achieving center's duties in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

- • Promote studies and researches in the areas related to the energy efficiency and support.
- • Encourage investment and finance in areas aim to achieve energy efficiency.
- • Encourage establishing training programs in the areas relevant to energy efficiency.
- • Accredit vocational training programs and certification bodies associated to training in the energy efficiency areas.
- • Coordinate and follow up the preparation of curriculums and activities of energy efficiency in general, higher and vocational education in cooperation with relevant education entities and institutions.
- • Hold exhibitions, conferences, programs, seminars and cooperation with specialists to raise awareness in the energy efficiency area.
- • Communicate, and cooperate internationally as well as represent KSA externally in the fields relevant to energy efficiency to benefit from the experiences of other countries.
- • Establish memorandum of understandings and agreements with international and regional bodies, local governmental and non-governmental agencies such as companies and establishments in the fields relevant to energy efficiency.
