  • The Role of Technology in addressing climate change.
  • Climate Change Adaptation Actions with mitigation co-benefits.

  • Renewable Energy Initiatives of Saudi Arabia
The first of a series of workshops on the Awareness Program was held on October 30th2017, at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. The workshop was very successful with more than 350 in attendance including students and faculty members of both genders.  It has contributed significantly to enhancing the knowledge base and understanding of attendees on climate change issues, the Paris Agreement and the effects of its implementation on the economy and sustainable development objectives of Saudi Arabia, especially on the energy sector. Participants were also enlightened on how Saudi Arabia can contribute to international efforts to combat the effects of climate change through the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in ways that promote its national interest.  These contributions include actions and plans designed to enhance diversification of the Kingdom’s economy and promote resilience to adapting to the negative socio-economic and biophysical impacts of climate change.
