CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS PROGRAM

The first workshop of the Awareness Program was held on October 30th 2017,
at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah
The Designated National Authority (DNA) and its member institutions are organizing a series of Climate Change Awareness workshops designed to engage academics in selected universities, both faculty and students on climate change issues. The program aims to introduce Climate Change, Paris Agreement, the Kingdom’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) as well as efforts to minimize the adverse economic and social impacts on Saudi Arabia arising from the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
The outreach program covers the following themes:
- Overview of the Climate Change Agreements since 1992 and the role of DNA.
- Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- The Role of Technology in addressing climate change.
- Climate Change Adaptation Actions with mitigation co-benefits.
- Energy Efficiency Initiatives of Saudi Arabia
- Renewable Energy Initiatives of Saudi Arabia
